Finally got my old 433MHz remote controls working with my smart setup — the RFR3 bridges them perfectly over the LAN REST API, so I can trigger my coffee machine from the couch or the garage door from bed. Setup took maybe ten minutes in Home Assistant, and it’s been solid for two weeks now.
Home Assistant picked it up over LAN in under two minutes with zero fuss, and the REST API is as open as advertised. Pairing my old 433MHz remote to trigger scenes via the RFR3 took one quick button press, and now the whole living room responds like I’ve got a smarter setup than I actually do.
Switched my whole garage setup over to this and the LAN API integration with Home Assistant was painless—took maybe ten minutes to get it talking to the network. Being able to trigger the 433MHz RF switch from a dashboard instead of hunting for the remote is a game changer.
