The three 8+6-bit hardware PWM channels give such smooth color fading that my LED matrix animations look buttery instead of flickery. I had it up and running with my own sketches in under an hour, and the onboard ATmega328P means I don't need to sacrifice my main board.
The three hardware PWM channels make color blending buttery smooth—I hooked it up to my UNO and had a rainbow ripple running in under ten minutes. Documentation is sparse, but the board itself is solid and worth the tinkering.
Took a chance on this despite the odd category listing, and I’m impressed how smooth the Arduino UNO integration is—just stacked it and the 8+6-bit PWM channels made the colors way richer than my old basic LED shields. The three channels give you real control for fading effects without any flicker,
